Hayley Todd appointed Head of Women’s & Schools Football

Football NSW has announced the appointment of Hayley Todd as the new Head of Women’s and Schools Football.
A newly created role, a key strategic priority for Football NSW is the development of Women’s Football and as such has been a focal point in the Australian game.
Hayley also joins the Football NSW executive team and will focus on increasing Female participation and will continue to drive school engagement opportunities.
A Football NSW employee for twelve years, ten of which as an administrator and Game Development Manager for the last three, Hayley has a good understanding of both the Women’s game and schools landscape in NSW.
‘I am honoured to have been offered this opportunity and excited about the possibilities and challenges this role will produce.
“Currently in winter football, female players in Football NSW represent 21% of the total playing numbers and 27% of Summer Football participants.
“I look forward to working with our Associations and clubs to increase opportunities for girls and women across all forms of our game.
“Women’s football in Australia has gone from strength to strength not just on the world stage as we eagerly support the Westfield Matildas in their Olympic Qualifiers later this month but also locally with a growth increase of 6% in NSW in 2015.
“We also know that football has leaped in popularity as the sport of choice for children aged 6 to 13 and for the first time football came in ahead of netball as the pick for girls.
“With parity at the forefront of most women’s sports, it’s a fantastic initiative for the game in NSW that Football NSW have increased our focus on Women’s and Schools football.
“It is an exciting time for girls and women and my team and I look forward to working with our key stakeholders in growing, developing and promoting our game.”
