Hornsby RSL FC’s Schools vision

U12_2016

Progressive football club Hornsby RSL Football Club takes player development to a new level in partnership with the Northern Suburbs Football Association.

In what could be a North Shore first, community grass roots football club Hornsby RSL Football Club has partnered with the Northern Suburbs Football Association to deliver a term based football school for HRSLFC players.

The school will see HRSLFC and NSFA working together to deliver quality football development and coaching in a school term based format.  This increases opportunities for children and youths from the very diverse Hornsby area to play football.

The football school is part of a 5-year development plan being implemented by Hornsby RSL FC and follows the clubs incredible success in winning the U12 Football NSW State Cup last year.

The club recognises the importance of partnering with the Northern Suburbs Football Association. Income generated from the HRSLFC football school is paid directly back to the NSFA for their services. This is important as it sees money returned to the local game and creates opportunities for local coaches to be employed by the Northern Suburbs Football Association.  This further benefits the long term development of football at Hornsby RSL FC and provides valuable experience to coaches.

The football school is focused upon the U6 to U13 age groups, with the training exercises firmly following the National Football Curriculum.

The school is available to registered HRSLFC 2017 players and with the assistance of a number of local businesses is able to subsidise the cost of attendance.

U6 and U7 can attend for no charge, with the whole cost subsidised, while for the U8 to U13 ages there is a part subsidised cost.

A number of businesses owned by parents of children at the club have offered sponsorship to help subsidise the costs. They are SUMU Design, re-do my space, Dexa Solutions, Tirar, McGregor Hosie Consulting and NSECA.  The contribution from each enforces the strong community spirit at the club.
