Football NSW in conjunction with Orange District Football Association hosted a free Girls MiniRoos Schools 5-a-Side Gala Day held on Wednesday 5th of April at the Sir Jack Brabham Park in Orange.

The Gala Day brought together female students who participated in football matches on smaller fields in a round robin format.

Schools such as Orange Public School, St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Spring Terrace Public School, Wellington Public School, Orange East Public School, Glenroi Heights Public School, and Orange Anglican Grammar School all participated in various age groups from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.

The MiniRoos Schools Gala Day provided students, who may or may not have played before, the opportunity to experience and be introduced to football in a fun environment.

The major focus on the day was entirely on enjoyment and participation, something which was present in many ways on what was a memorable day for every player involved.

There were also eight female game leaders from the James Sheahan Catholic High School who also played a pivotal role in the running of the event.

Congrats to every participant and thank you to all the schools who threw its support behind this exciting initiative that is sure to grow year upon year assisting in the promotion of female football.
