Game Development Officer: Expression of Interest

Football NSW is the governing body for Football and Futsal in the Australian state of New South Wales, except for the northern regions of NSW. Football NSW is a member of the national governing body, Football Australia (FA).

Football NSW is located at Valentine Sports Park in Glenwood NSW. In addition to housing Football NSW staff offices, the venue includes 5 playing fields, lecture rooms, indoor sports hall and 20 metre indoor pool, cafe, and gym on site.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Delivery of MiniRoos aged (4 – 12) participation programs including school development programs, after school programs, MiniRoos Kick-Off and Kinder Kick-Off.
  • Delivery of Modified Football and Inclusive participation programs including Street Football, Futsal, Futsal Schools, football4all, Female Football Programs, Walking Football and other programs as deemed appropriate.
  • Delivery of Community Engagement activities including inflatable activations at A-League Men’s & Women’s, Socceroos & Matildas matches/events and various local Member Association and Member Club events.
  • Assist in the delivery of Football NSW events including football4all Gala Day, Summer Football Champions of Champions, Holiday Clinics, Cerebral Palsy Football events, Power Chair Football events, and Female Football Week events.
  • Assist in the delivery of Community Coach Education programs and promotion of positive and inclusive coaching practices.
  • Delivery of general duties as deemed reasonably necessary by FNSW.
  • Always adhere to FNSW policies, procedures and WHS guidelines.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA AND EXPERIENCE

  • MiniRoos Certificate.
  • Positive and approachable.
  • Passionate about working with kids and being involved in football.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Professionally presented.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous and/or current playing experience.
  • Previous and/or current coaching experience.
  • SIA Safeguarding Children & Young People in Sport Induction course, PBTR Harassment & Discrimination course and PBTR Inclusive Coaching or ability to obtain these certifications.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Skill Training Certificate or higher.
  • First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate or higher
  • Knowledge of Football NSW structure and local association landscape.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Feedback from local schools, clubs, associations, and relevant stakeholders post program delivery.
  • Level of satisfaction/enjoyment from program participants.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Working with Children Number for paid workers.
  • Commitment to FNSW values, behaviours and culture.
  • Current / valid NSW driver’s licence.
  • Ability to work unique hours inclusive of weekend and evening work as required.

  • Hourly rate in line with Sporting Organisations Awards for a Grade 1 Coach.
