Premier Youth League Round 1 Review

Please allow me to take this opportunity to wish everyone the very best of good fortune for the season.
While every competition point is always important, history has shown us that the first round picture does not provide and accurate indicator for the season. We will need to wait for at least four rounds to be played before we see the competition tables begin to make some sort of sense.
The preseason matches are a thing of the past and the form they produced means little now that everyone is playing for points. There is always a certain amount of genuine excitement about the opening day to the season as the players, teams, coaches, administrators and supporters all look forward to the best possible results over the next six months.
For some, those dreams will be fulfilled and others will be disappointed in varying degrees. The overriding concern for everyone concerned must always be that the players are performing to the very best of their considerable abilities and no-one can ask for more than that, no matter what the outcome of the matches.
I am looking forward to yet another season of top class play and I sincerely hope that you all enjoy Season 2010.
