Teams in fourth or fifth position should not be counting their chickens as they are under considerable pressure from those close behind them. And even the current structure of the top five in most competitions is subject to change at the blink of an eye.
If that is not a clear indication of the quality of the competition this season then I don?t know what is!
Overview
Sutherland Sharks had a very good day as they took all the points home from their visit to Bankstown City just as they had done in the first round while Manly United bagged all the points at home to Bonnyrigg White Eagles after Manly had taken just nine of the first round points.
Sydney Olympic grabbed a dozen of the points when they visited West Sydney Berries and that was a change from the first round outcome when the Berries pocketed eight points.
South Coast Wolves earned twelve points from their journey to Rockdale City Suns and that was three more than they had taken from the first round clash while APIA Leichhardt Tigers and Sydney United shared the spoils at seven points apiece to repeat the outcome of the first round fixture.
Marconi Stallions had gained thirteen points from their first round encounter with Blacktown City and the Stallions had another happy day as they bagged ten points this time around.
Grade 13
Competition leaders Marconi Stallions once again proved that they are the masters of this age group when they racked up a 6-0 victory over Blacktown City who slipped back one place to sixth as a result. The Stallions had also taken the first round points with a 4-0 success.
West Sydney Berries held onto second spot even though they suffered a 3-2 loss to third placed Sydney Olympic and that reversed the first round outcome when the Berries were 7-0 winners.
Manly United remained at fourth thanks to their 3-0 triumph over twelfth placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles who Manly had defeated 7-0 last time the teams saw each other.
Sutherland Sharks jumped one place up the table to fifth when they were 1-0 winners over tenth placed Bankstown City and that completed the double for the Sharks as they had won the first round match 5-1.
Seventh placed South Coast Wolves came up with a 1-0 result over thirteenth placed Rockdale City Suns after their first round encounter had finished in a scoreless draw.
Sydney United are in eighth position after they posted a 2-0 result over ninth placed APIA Leichhardt Tigers who United had beaten 3-1 the first time around.
Grade 14
Manly United grabbed the competition lead with a 1-0 victory over eleventh placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles and that reversed the first round outcome when Bonnyrigg had taken the points with a 3-0 result.
Blacktown City slipped back to second place after they went down 1-0 to third placed Marconi Stallions after the first round match had ended in a scoreless draw.
West Sydney Berries fell back one place to fifth when they were beaten 1-0 by Sydney Olympic who have climbed one place to fourth. The Berries had claimed the first round points with a 2-1 result.
Sutherland Sharks remained at sixth after their 2-1 victory over seventh placed Bankstown City who the Sharks had beaten 3-0 when they met in the first round.
Sydney United retained eighth position after their 2-1 success over tenth placed APIA Leichhardt Tigers and that completed the double for United as they were 1-0 winners when the teams met last time.
South Coast Wolves are still ninth following their 4-0 result over thirteenth placed Rockdale City Suns who had suffered a 3-0 loss when they last faced the Wolves.
Grade 15
Marconi Stallions are five points clear at the top of the table even though they were dealt a 4-1 defeat by Blacktown City who have moved up one place to fifth. That result reverses the first round outcome when the Stallions claimed the points with a 4-1 scoreline.
Sydney Olympic are still second after they produced a 3-1 result over eighth placed West Sydney Berries and that completes the double for Olympic as they were 3-0 winners the first time around.
Sutherland Sharks have retained third position following their 2-0 success over Bankstown City who have slipped back two places to sixth. The Sharks had taken the first round points with a 5-3 result.
Manly United climbed one place to fourth when they came up with a 3-0 victory over thirteenth placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles who Manly had beaten 4-1 last time the teams faced each other.
APIA Leichhardt Tigers have remained at seventh when they were 3-1 winners over tenth placed Sydney United who the Tigers had vanquished 4-1 in the first round clash.
South Coast Wolves are still placed ninth following their win by the odd goal in five over twelfth placed Rockdale City Suns who had lost the first round encounter by a 4-1 scoreline.
Grade 16

APIA Leichhardt Tigers retained third position when they produced a 1-0 result over sixth placed Sydney United who the Tigers had beaten 2-0 in the first round encounter.
Blacktown City went back one place to fifth when they were held to a 1-1 draw by eighth placed Marconi Stallions who had taken out the first round match with a 3-1 result.
Sydney Olympic rose one place to fourth following their 2-1 victory over ninth placed West Sydney Berries after their first round meeting had ended in a scoreless draw.

Grade 18
Bonnyrigg White Eagles have managed to hold on at the top of the table after they went down 3-0 to fourth placed Manly United, the second loss in as many weeks for Bonnyrigg who had remained unbeaten up to that point. The first round points had gone to the White Eagles when they won 4-2.
Sutherland Sharks are still placed second following their 4-1 victory over eleventh placed Bankstown City who the Sharks had beaten 5-1 when the teams faced each other last time.
South Coast Wolves are placed third after they produced a 3-1 result over twelfth placed Rockdale City Suns who had held out for a 0-0 first round draw.
Sydney United are placed fifth after they were held to a 1-1 draw by tenth placed APIA Leichhardt Tigers. The first round points were also split when that match finished at 2-2.
Marconi Stallions climbed two places to seventh with a 1-0 win over Blacktown City who have slipped back two spots to eighth. That result completes the double for the Stallions as they were 2-0 winners in the first round clash.
Sydney Olympic slipped back two places to ninth when they suffered a 2-1 loss to West Sydney Berries who have scooted from eighth to sixth. The first round encounter was a 2-2 draw.
