Super Youth League Round Review 1

FNSWportcolpos

All clubs have experienced disruptions to their preparations for this season with scheduled trial matches being washed out and training sessions either altered or cancelled altogether,
The opening day suffered a major loss when the clashes between Spirit FC and Granville Rage, Fraser Park and Macarthur Rams and Mounties Wanderers and Sydney University all being washed out, a problem that will cause some early rescheduling headaches for the Football NSW Competitions folk.
Of course, there was some good news from the weekend when the other three fixtures went ahead, much to the relief of all concerned.
It is impossible for me to attend all the fixtures on a given weekend so I obviously need some assistance from the clubs to add some real interest to this report. Once again, I am inviting clubs to submit the details of their goal scorers and even a short (and hopefully unbiased) report on their matches. You can send the information to me by email and my address is barrydavis52@hotmail.com or you can ring or text me on 0451 004 091.
Club Championship
Western NSW Mariners got off to the best possible start when they collected all fifteen points from their home encounter with Bankstown Berries and Central Coast Mariners would have been pleased to have bagged thirteen points when they hosted Dulwich Hill while Northern Tigers pocketed a dozen points from their home clash with Bankstown City Lions.
Grade 13
Western NSW Mariners began their campaign with a bang as they downed Bankstown Berries with a 5-0 scoreline thanks to goals from Kurtley Golden, Jai Regan, Hamish Lamberton, Connor Crain and Gez McGarry. Bankstown City Lions may have raised more than a few eyebrows when they were 5-1 winners over Northern Tigers and Central Coast Mariners must have been happy with their 3-0 result over Dulwich Hill.
The fixture between the Skilleroos and Bankstown City Lions is scheduled for Tuesday evening but that looks dodgy at this stage.
Grade 14
Western NSW Mariners kicked off the new season with a very respectable 4-1 result they faced Bankstown Berries thanks to a hat-trick from Sam Smith and a goal from Kobe Rapley. Northern Tigers came up with a 3-1 victory over Bankstown City Lions while the match between Central Coast Mariners and Dulwich Hill ended in a scoreless draw.
Grade 15
Central Coast Mariners produced a very healthy 4-1 result from their encounter with Dulwich Hill while Western NSW Mariners posted a win by the odd goal in five when they faced Bankstown Berries with the Mariners? goals coming from Edward Kweka, Lachlan Thomas and Preston Parker. Northern Tigers registered a 2-1 success from their meeting with Bankstown City Lions.
Grade 16
Northern Tigers would have been absolutely delighted with their 5-0 scoreline from the clash with Bankstown City Lions and Central Coast Mariners may have been equally delighted with their 4-0 success over Dulwich Hill while Western NSW Mariners collected maximum points with a 2-1 result over Bankstown Berries with the goals for the Mariners coming from Tom Morrison and Blake Pointon.
Grade 18
Northern Tigers posted the best result in this age group when they were 4-0 winners over Bankstown City Lions while Western NSW Mariners downed Bankstown Berries with a 3-1 scoreline with Mitch Hutchings providing all three goals for the Mariners. Central Coast Mariners came up with a 2-0 result from their clash with Dulwich Hill.
Given the current weather patterns, the encounter between NSWIS and Bankstown City Lions which is scheduled for Tuesday evening looks to be in doubt at the time of writing.
