Hawkesbury City vs FC Gazy
Saturday, 30 June 2012 @ 5-00pm at Bensons Lane Field
Hawkesbury City kicks off round 15 action as they play host to a wounded FC Gazy side at Bensons Lane for a 5pm Saturday night kick-off.
The Hawks have had a difficult past week by their standards, picking up just the solitary point with a mid-week draw against West City in a catch up before losing out to Hurstville City 1-0 last Sunday. The Hawks will be hoping to find their goal scoring form come Saturday with the likes of Zac Watters, Paul Cooper and Hakan Celik hoping to inspire their side to victory.
FC Gazy under the reigns of Andrew Montgomery are still yet to register their first win, however some fresh new signings have certainly revitalised the outfit from Lansvale. FC Gazy will have their work cut out this week though as they face up against a Hawks side looking to bounce back from a disappointing week.
If we look back to round 4, Hawkesbury defeated FC Gazy 6-1 in a very one sided affair ? however this time round could be a much closer meeting with Hawkesbury still favoured to snap their two game winless streak at home.
League form last five games:
Hawkesbury City SC: L-W-W-D-L
FC Gazy: L-W-L-D-L
Luddenham United vs Bathurst 75
Saturday, 30 June 2012 @ 7-00pm at Alec Lamberton Field
Luddenham United make the trek up to Alec Lamberton Field to tackle Bathurst 75 on Saturday night.
Luddenham have found it tough against top five sides this year, and were unable to register any points against Hakoah and Prospect United in previous weeks after a good showing against Nepean back in round 12. Despite Luddenham?s inconsistent season to date, they still only sit just 5 points out of the top five and with plenty of quality within their roster – a late surge for finals football is certainly not beyond them.
Bathurst finally got a point to their name last round as they kept a clean sheet against a red-hot Western Condors side. Mark Rooke will be hoping this is the start of something new for his side with the likes of James Christie and Brett Osborne looking to get their side back into action.
Luddenham came away with all points in the last meeting between these sides up at Bathurst back in April, but with Bathurst picking up their first point in a long stretch against a quality Western Condors side in round 14, it goes without saying this could be another close battle decided by the odd goal.
League form last five games:
Luddenham United: D-L-W-L-L
Bathurst 75: L-L-L-L-D
Moutains United vs Nepean FC
Saturday, 30 June 2012 @ 7-00pm at Summerhayes Park
Mountains United welcomes Nepean FC to Summerhayes for an intriguing Saturday night local derby.
Mountains United secured a valuable win over FC Gazy on home soil last round to make it six wins for the season. The Blue Mountains outfit sit just inside the top five and will be keen to knock over their state league nemesis Nepean to book back to back wins. The experienced Geoff Abrahams and Kaan Davies have been solid for United this season, and will prove to be a big obstacle for Nepean?s attackers on Saturday night.
Nepean FC will look to bounce back after going down 8-1 to a rampant Hakoah side last round. The defeat is Nepean?s heaviest in recent history but Adam Malouf will try to use it as ammo as they now turn their focus to this weekend?s meeting with local rivals Mountains United.
Mountains United defeated Nepean 3-0 back in round 4 and have the home advantage this time around – but anything can happen in a local derby and this one could go down to the wire.
League form last five games:
Nepean FC: L-W-L-D-L
Mountains United: L-L-W-L-W
Belmore United vs Hurstville City Minotaurs
Sunday, 1 July 2012 @ 3-00pm at Blick Oval
Belmore United play host to Hurstville City on Sunday afternoon at Blick Oval for a 3pm start.
Belmore United showed great character to come back from two goals down to pinch a point against West City in round 14. The boys from Belmore have only lost two of their last five hit outs, but failure to secure a win sees them remain in last place.
Hurstville City bounced back in style as they defeated Hawkesbury City at home 1-0 last round. The much needed win sees Hurstville once again fighting for a finals spot, and a win against Belmore could further entrench the Minotaurs case for a finals berth.
Hurstville City beat Belmore 4-0 in round 4 and if they can back up as they did against Hawkesbury, another three points could be on the cards for the Minotaurs.
League form last five games:
Belmore United: L-D-L-D-D
Hurstville City Minotaurs: L-L-D-L-W
Western Condors FC vs West City FC
Sunday, 1 July 2012 @ 3-00pm at Knight Park Field No. 4
Two in-form sides in Western Condors FC and West City FC go head to head on Sunday afternoon at Knight Park Field No. 4.
Western Condors failed to secure victory away to Bathurst last round, but have a great opportunity to surpass their round 15 opponents this week with a win. Western Condors haven?t lost in their last six matches and are hitting form right at the business end of the season ? when it counts.
West City is in the same boat as Western Condors, and hasn?t tasted defeat in their last seven matches. Last round West City was in the driving seat to secure another 3 points, but a late surge by Belmore ensured both sides shared the spoils. Brendan Mitrovich and Jason Browne have led their side well in recent weeks and will be hoping to unsettle Western Condors to keep City?s season on track.
West City pipped Western Condors 1-0 at home back in round 4 action and this one should be another close battle decided by the odd goal.
League form last five games:
Western Condors FC: W-W-W-W-D
West City FC: D-W-W-D-D
Hakoah vs Prospect United
Sunday, 1 July 2012 @ 7-00pm at Hensley Athletic Field
Undefeated league leaders Hakoah return to Hensley Athletic Field and welcome Prospect United for a Sunday night kick off.
What can be said about Hakoah?s form this season? They have taken League Two literally by storm and clocked up an unbelievable 13 game undefeated ?winning? streak to sit 12 points clear of their nearest rival. The stats say it all ? 56 goals for and only 7 against for a staggering goal difference of 49. Despite this, Mark Robertson will be weary of the dangers Prospect United possess as his side look to continue with another win at their home fortress ?Hensley Athletic Field?.
Prospect United nabbed all points on offer as they dismantled Luddenham United 4-2 last round. Luis Freitas scored a hat-trick to continue his good season form but Tony Caruso will have his work cut out this round as his side face up against the might of Hakoah away from home.
Prospect went down 2-1 at home back in round 4 in a close encounter so this could be another tight one, with Hakoah favoured at home.
League form last five games:
Hakoah: W-W-W-W-W
Prospect United: W-L-D-L-W
