Football Wagga’s Tolland Wolves FC has become the 10th club nationwide to achieve 2-star accreditation in the Club Changer program.

Club Changer is Football Australia’s Club Development Program which aims to protect and enhance clubs, make them stronger and more resilient, leading them in building welcoming and inclusive cultures, and educate them on positive environments for players, coaches, volunteers, and officials while planning for long term viability and success.

Football NSW’s Program Manager of Club Development Trevor Huxley applauded Tolland FC’s efforts in achieving such a status via the Club Changer program.

“It’s brilliant to see a regional club make such great strides in the female football space, and to continue engagement with Club Changer in 2024.

“Their action plan has supported them and as a result they have shown growth across female player and coach numbers.

“As a result of their engagement with Club Changer, they were also lucky enough to be selected as flag bearers during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.”

Football Wagga Wagga’s Development Manager Liam Dedini praised Tolland FC and their efforts in achieving its 2-star status.

“It is fantastic to see Tolland FC achieve their 2-star recognition for the Club Changer Program.

“Being the first club within Football Wagga Wagga to be accredited with 2-star is a testament to their hard work, and as an association we are hopeful this will inspire other clubs within the association to start their Club Changer journey and to follow in the footsteps o Tolland Football Club.”

While Tolland Wolves FC Club President Josh Lang spoke about his delight upon receiving the welcome news that his club were rewarded for their hard work and efforts via the Game Changer club space.

“We are immensely proud to be the 10th two-star Club Changer in the country.

“As a regional grassroots football club, it shows that Club Changer can offer real benefits no matter where you are located or how big you are.

“For Tolland Wolves, we have a 50-year history of breaking new ground for football in country NSW.

“Proudly, we registered the first-ever female player in the Riverina region of NSW back in 1977, as well as bringing Rale Rasic to Wagga Wagga for development sessions.

“It’s a proud legacy and one that we honour by ensuring we are continuously growing and improving, including positive engagement with programs like Club Changer.

“Club Changer has empowered us to take a close look at our operations on and off the field, with the support and guidance of Football NSW and Football Australia helping every step of the way in priority areas such as female football and safeguarding”.
