The North West Sydney Womens Football Association kicked off its first ever Football4All program which saw athletes with a disability range from as young as seven to fifty-six years of age in what was a fantastic 8-week initiative enjoyed by all.

The course kicked off on the 27th of April after the North West Sydney Womens Football Association received a community grant through Ryde City Council that funded the program free of charge.

On top of spreading the good gospel according to football to all participants, the money was also used to purchase football equipment, pay for a medical person to be on site for the eight weeks, new uniforms for the girls and finally provided a Grand Final experience with trophies and a barbeque.

NWSWF General Manager Denise Robinson was proud of what the Association achieved and was overjoyed by the many smiles she witnessed during the eight-week program.

“Experiences such as this program will certainly go down as priceless for everyone involved.

“All of the girls who attended, said they would be back next year. The girls had so much fun and the volunteers found it so rewarding. The parents were great and all had very positive feedback about the program.

“We had lots of volunteers from our Over 35 Gladesville Ravens and Putney FC clubs, as well as Association Committee and board members.

“Our intention is to grow this program so that we include it as part of our standard competition and let it run for the full 18 week season. “
