Various football fields in Togo and Uganda were awash of Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC jerseys as the club sent more than 360 playing kits on route to Africa to lovers of the world game.

The Rangers reported that in March this year, contact was made with Adonai Partners, an African Mission about supplying football apparel to various African nations.

Rangers Secretary Narelle Telling and Club President Mark Robertson searched high and wide through their old kits and packed some 360 obsolete Rangers playing shirts which was truly an amazing initiative supported by the club.

In an official club statement, the Rangers were overjoyed upon seeing images of their kits in use by players loving the world game.

“The Rangers were proud to announce that those Rangers shirts have arrived and have been spotted on the fields of Togo and Uganda, bringing joy to those that wear the Rangers shirt, be it on another continent; a long long way from Popondetta Park, Emerton in Western Sydney.

“Amongst the club’s diverse cultural background, we have a number of players of African heritage including members originating from Togo.

“There is certainly a sense of pride seeing these Rangers playing kits once again providing enjoyment to others, however seeing them barefooted and in jeans has only inspired us to conduct a boot, sock and short drive to complete these footballers kits.”
