I am writing to advise you of the resignation of Mark Reading as a Director of Football NSW, effective immediately.

Mark has been a Director, and Deputy Chairman, of Football NSW since 2011 and has made a significant and invaluable contribution to the organisation during that time.

At the Board Meeting last week, Mark indicated he was not likely to finish his second term as a Director, having already completed five years of service and would be retiring from the Board. For this reason, he did not seek re-appointment as Deputy Chairman.

The position of Director of Football NSW is a demanding and difficult one that requires much energy and commitment, and Mark has invested both to the organisation during his time as a director.

We thank Mark for his contributions and efforts and wish him the very best in the future.

In accordance with the Constitution, the vacancy now created by Mark’s retirement offers the Directors an opportunity to continue the process to steadily renew, reinvigorate and refresh the Board.

The Board will announce a replacement “appointed” Director in coming weeks. Given Football NSW’s standing, there is an orderly process to be followed in terms of identifying a suitably qualified candidate, which will include taking into account the current mix of skills and background of the existing Board Members.

The Directors take seriously the appointment of a new Director. The Board will seek to appoint a person who can also demonstrate a stakeholder–centred focus, as part of the transformation in culture this Board is working to implement.

An announcement will be made immediately after the Directors agree upon this key appointment.

Yours sincerely,

Anter Isaac,

Football NSW Chairman.
