Emma Kocbek excels in Canberra

It wasn’t just the players that shone bright at the recent FFA Girls NTC Challenge held in Canberra at the AIS as NSW born referee Emma Kocbek was crowned ‘Referee of the Tournament’.

The 20-year-old featured prominently and caught the attention of many enthusiastic onlookers who were impressed with the Nepean Referees Group match official’s performances so much so, they acknowledged her with this prestigious award.

Also part of the Football NSW Referees Academy, Kocbek has certainly put herself in the picture as a future W-League referee.

Football NSW Referees Manager Kris Griffiths-Jones expressed his delight upon seeing Kocbek further develop as an official after landing such an honour.

“It was fantastic to see Emma do extremely well at Canberra in what was a very competitive tournament with some fantastic officials on hand.

“I congratulate her on a job well done and hope that she continues to perform and reaching as higher level as possible.”
