Football NSW would like to congratulate experienced match officials Emma Kocbek and Maggie Price who will feature in this Saturday’s 2023-24 A-League Women’s Grand Final between Melbourne City and Sydney FC at AAMI Park in Melbourne.

Both Kocbek and Price will feature in their first A-League Grand Final as assistant referees, however, they have both been involved in previous deciders, with Price appointed as Fourth Official in 2022, and Kocbek as Fifth Official last year.

It’s a massive achievement for the dynamic duo who will be flying the Football NSW flag at this year’s pinnacle national women’s final.

Kocbek commenced her journey into refereeing via the Nepean Referees Group while Price through the Canterbury Referees Association.

The two came through the Referee Development Panel as well as the Football NSW Referees Academy before progressing onto the senior NSW NPL competitions and then the A-Leagues.

Football NSW would also like to congratulate the following match officials, who also featured during the A-League Women’s 2024 Finals Series:

Isabella Mossin was appointed as referee in the first leg semi-final match between Sydney FC and Central Coast Mariners at Industree Group Stadium on Sunday 21st April 2024. Mossin joined the ALW referees panel as a fourth official in the 22/23 season and made her debut in the middle in Round 9 of the 23/24 season. Her on-field performances throughout the year saw her rewarded with her first ALW finals match in the middle, which was then followed by a fourth official appointment for the second leg semi-final between Melbourne City and Newcastle Jets at AAMI Park on Sunday 28th April 2024.

Joining Mossin on her finals debut was Amber Morris, who also made her first finals appearance on the Central Coast Mariners vs Sydney FC fixtures at Industree Group Stadium on Sunday 21st April 2024. Morris’ appointment to the match was a testament to her high-level performances throughout the 2024 season as an assistant referee.

Bec Mackie also featured in her first ALW finals match as a referee this year in the fixture between Newcastle Jets and Melbourne City at Maitland Regional Sportsground on Sunday 21st April 2024. An experienced ALW match official, Mackie made her debut as a referee in the then W-League in 2020 and saw herself rewarded with this semi-final fixture for her work throughout the 23/24 season. This fixture was then followed by a fourth official appointment for the second leg semi-final between Sydney FC and Central Coast at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday 27th April 2024.

Maddy Allum, who is no stranger to ALW finals football after being appointed to the 22/23 ALW grand final, joined Mackie on Saturday 27th April as an assistant referee. Starting her refereeing career at Canterbury Referees Association, Allum has a been a part of the national panel since 2021/22 and in 2024 was appointed to the FIFA International Referee List as an Assistant Referee.

Congratulations to all match officials.
