Female Football Week Star Profile: Alexis Malizis

Ask anyone at Football St George club Forest Rangers FC who Alexis Malizis is, and you’d be met with a response that this promising young female superstar will be a future star coach in the Women’s game.

The 19-year-old who also plays football with National Premier Leagues 2 NSW Women’s outfit Inter Lions is one of Forest Rangers’ Female Football Ambassadors and mentors.

She’s part of the club’s Development Team and has been for the last three seasons.

“There are a lot of life lessons such as respect and expressing creativity that can be taught in football and it’s my job as a mentor and coach to positively encourage these values,” said Malizis.

“I take it upon myself to be a part of the development of the up-and-coming generation of female footballers. My role is to encourage footballers to believe in themselves to continue to develop and achieve success in Female football in Australia.”

Forest Rangers Club President was full of praise on the hard work, dedication, and commitment to coaching Malizis has put forward to the proud club.

“Alexis prides herself as being a being an ambassador of our Club whether she’s on the field or off.

“In her role as a Coach, Alexis works with not only her team but is always flexible in helping other teams and their players. She is a strong role model always showing understanding, kindness and positive behaviors towards her team, her peers, and spectators as well as parents.

“Alexis has helped Forest Rangers FC to continuously change and adapt by demonstrating high standards of learning from each training session and game and what great communication can achieve.

“She is always willing to try something new and fun as it’s not always about winning (even though her team has a great record of not losing a game in the last season).”

Malizis’ passion for football has led her to be identified as one of the youngest Coaches in Forest Rangers FC’s Development Team.

Her commitment to coaching and playing is there for all to see so much so she is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Sport to help further build her knowledge and ideas in shaping young aspiring female footballers in Australia.
