2021 National Indigenous Football Championships Cancelled

Regrettably, based on the current health advice, NIFC has made the difficult, yet necessary decision to postpone the 5th National Indigenous Football until October 2022.

While the COVID-19 pandemic remains a significant challenge for mass gathering events, NIFC remains committed to hosting a successful tournament in a COVIDSafe environment that guarantees the safety of teams, attendees, and the wider community.

Given the current Public Health Order, given our discussions and briefings with various Government agencies, the daily updates from the Premier, the Minister for Health and the Chief Medical Officer, and understandably, there being no Government sanctioned roadmap out of the lockdown for sport, we were left with no option but to cancel the Championships.

The NIFC will be back bigger than ever with plans already in place to promote and facilitate the 2022 NIFC, until then stay safe.
