Walking Football featured at Berowra Football clubs annual “Back to Berowra” event, with Walking Footballers descending on Berowra Oval from across the Northern Suburbs Football Association and beyond.

Numbers have steadily increased with NSFA’s Walking Football Coordinator Trevor Huxley stating his excitement in seeing the continual growth of the format in the Northern Suburbs FA area.

“Walking Football is a fun, safe, social and sustainable format of the beautiful game, and it’s important we offer as many opportunities as possible for our members to continue playing the game they love.

“Walking Football is a great opportunity to for participants to either start their playing journey, remain in the game or socialise in the local community”.

Northern Suburbs FA CEO Ed Ferguson echoed Huxley’s sentiments.

“We are looking to kick start our Associations Walking Football competition in 2023 with the aspiration to have 8 Clubs competing in next year’s competition.

“This will also include a gala day at the start of the Winter and Summer season as a major attraction event for new players to this format of the game.

“This will ensure that players have a club close to home and continue into their older years to participate and enjoy the game they have always loved.”

Football NSW’s Walking Football Coordinator Anthony Pavlidis was impressed with the support and energy and enthusiasm that took place at Berowra Oval.

“It was fantastic to see so many smiles on each of the Walking Football participants faces at the ‘Back to Berowra Day’.

“Walking Football continues to grow in size and we at Football NSW will continue to support this amazing and exciting initiative further promoting this concept of our beautiful game to our audience.”
