Coaching Conference Speaker Confirmed: Tony Franken
Football NSW are delighted to announce Matildas goalkeeping coach Tony Franken as a guest speaker at the 2023 Football New South Wales Coaching Conference.
A former national team player himself, Tony Franken represented Australia 14 times and has been an ever-present in the technical staff – acting as goalkeeper coach for more than a decade, including during the 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 men’s FIFA World Cup™ tournaments.
Franken is now the goalkeeping coach for the CommBank Matildas and was a key member of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup™ staff, working with the likes of Lydia Williams, Mackenzie Arnold, Teagan Micah and Jada Whyman.
Alongside this Tony is the Head Of Goalkeeping for Football Australia where he oversees Goalkeeping Coach Development from community football through to the professional game.
Tony will be delivering the theory and practical sessions across both days of the 2023 Football New South Wales Coaching Conference providing key insights into goalkeeping.
The 2023 Football New South Wales Coaching Conference will be held at Valentine Sports Park on Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th November. The two-day event, hosted by well-known football personality Stephanie Brantz, will see keynote presentations given by international and domestic special guests, with a raft of experience across all levels of the game.
Coaches will once again have the opportunity to sculpt their own learning journey through a series of theory and practical break-out sessions allowing you to choose topics most relevant to your specific interests.
Football New South Wales are also pleased to confirm that ticket prices for the event will be frozen and remain the same from the 2019 conference as a commitment to coaches having access to professional development opportunities.
Coaches can purchase a one-day attendee pass (25 CPD Points) or a two-day weekend pass (50 CPD Points).
Full attendance at each day earns participants 25 points per day towards FA/AFC licence reaccreditation as per the AFC Coaching Convention.
