The club is scheduled to take on the Marconi Stallions on the 19th of January at Marconi Stadium as its first match against NSW Premier League opposition in the Johnny Warren Pre-Season Cup.

The Berries have recruited a handful of players in pushing its cause for causing a stir amongst the best of the NSW Premier League sides with former Manly United star Michael Cunico, ex-Sydney Olympic midfielder Kosta Lagoudakis, former Stanmore Hawks attacker Neil Phillippou and Sash Tirovski seen as some of the fresh new faces at the club.

Tirovski especially has a big point to prove after the former Rockdale City Suns striker and former Super League ?Golden Boot? winner gained minimal game time with Bankstown City last season.

One such player that has not let age weary him has been veteran defender Angelo Petratos who continues to defy critics by continuing to play on.

Shaun Piggott has also been seen as an interesting signing and will be one to look out for too after he was picked up this year from Illawarra Premier League outfit Picton Rangers.

There will also be a brotherly connection at the club as both Joshua and Nicolo Sama will both be playing with the Berries for the new season.

Berries coach Scott Baillie will certainly have his work cut out but the former NSL defender will no doubt have a few tricks up his sleeve in keeping the Berries afloat in NSW?s top tier football competition this season.

Moving onto the club?s promising youth players, Joshua Fearn, Eli Squillacioti and Craig Jacob have been signaled out as players to watch out for in the new season.

The club will be using Sydney Olympic Athletic Centre as its home base for season 2008.
