Games organisers are expecting 25,000 people from more than 100 countries will compete across 28 sports, with football certain to be one of the most popular. 
The Sydney 2009 World Masters Games will run over nine consecutive days (10-18 October) with the football competition scheduled to take place at these three excellent venues in the north-west of the city.

? Fred Caterson Reserve, Castle Hill
 
With ten age/gender categories (30+, 35+, 40+, 45+ and 50+ for both men and women) and two grades (premier and competitive), the Sydney 2009 World Masters Games football competition represents a wonderful opportunity for both serious and recreational players to enter teams and have the experience of competing against sides from all four corners of the globe as part of a major international multi-sport event that attracts up to three times more competitors than the Olympic Games. 
Football teams from Europe, the Americas and throughout the Asia-Pacific region have registered for the Sydney 2009 World Masters Games already.
