Division One Youth League Round 7 Review

Whilst it was not practical to do so last weekend, we will start to look at the competition tables from this point onward and it is important to remember that a few teams have a match in hand while most others have completed the full schedule of games.
Club Championship
St George are the frontrunners on this table by a margin of six points after they grabbed twelve points from their home matches against twelfth placed Nepean while Stanmore Hawks are in second spot thanks to the nine points they earned from their trip to eighth placed Southern NSW.
Third placed Camden Tigers bagged twelve points when they hosted eleventh placed Springwood United and Gladesville Ryde Magic are placed fourth after they took twelve points from their visit to thirteenth placed Inter Lions.
Hurstville City Minotaurs are in fifth position thanks to the twelve points they pocketed when the faced fourteenth placed Northbridge while sixth placed Mt Druitt Town Rangers earned ten points from their visit to seventh placed Hakoah and Hills Brumbies are ninth after they claimed only six points at home to tenth placed Balmain East Tigers.
Grade 13
Camden Tigers have lead of three points at the top of the ladder, maintaining their perfect start to the season, after they accounted for twelfth placed Springwood United with a 4-0 scoreline. For the second week in a row the Tigers were held scoreless in the first half despite dominating field position. Springwood defended strongly and really made Camden work hard during this period. As has been the case in previous weeks, once the Tigers get the lead, they quickly dominate their opposition to close out the game. Jacob Emmerton put the Tigers 1-0 up in the 37th minute with a great strike on goal. In the 39th minute, Lachlan Rixon doubled the Tigers lead and in the 41st minute Bradley Rockliff made it 3-0. In the 54th minute, khit Minh grabbed the Tigers fouth to give the Tigers another positive result.
Gladesville Ryde Magic, who have won all six of their matches, are second following their 3-1 victory over fourteenth placed Inter Lions.
Southern NSW are in third place thanks to their very respectable 7-1 win over tenth placed Stanmore Hawks and St George are fourth following their 4-0 success over seventh placed Nepean.
Hurstville City Minotaurs are in fifth position after they were 4-2 winners over eleventh placed Northbridge while Hakoah are in sixth spot following their 2-2 draw with eighth placed Mt Druitt Town Rangers and Hills Brumbies are ninth despite their 1-0 loss to thirteenth placed Balmain East Tigers who were posting their first win of the season.
Grade 14
Unbeaten Stanmore Hawks have a lead of three points at the top of the table after they registered a very solid 5-0 result when they faced eighth placed Southern NSW while St George are second after they accounted for twelfth placed Nepean with a 3-0 scoreline.
Mt Druitt Town Rangers are placed third after they were 6-0 winners over sixth placed Hakoah and Balmain East Tigers are fourth thanks to a sensational 8-2 victory over fourteenth paced Hills Brumbies.
Fifth placed Camden Tigers produced a 2-1 victory over thirteenth placed Springwood United. Camden continued their recent run of good form with a 2-1 result against a very willing Springwood United. Springwood opened the scoring in the twentieth minute with a great build up from the back and some pin point passing from the midfield saw A.Worner beat the Tigers? keeper. Both sides were defending strongly but this goal seemed to lift the Tigers in attack and in the twenty-fourth minute a Liam Ross goal saw the Tigers draw level. From this point on both teams pushed for that winning goal and it was the Tigers who were rewarded when a super strike from Ahmad Alrekabi in the fifty-fourth minute flew past the outstretched Springwood keeper to finish the scoring for the match.
Hurstville City Minotaurs are seventh following their 3-1 success over eleventh placed Northbridge and Gladesville Ryde Magic are placed ninth after they were beaten 5-1 by tenth placed Inter Lions.
Grade 15 
Unbeaten Mt Druitt Town Rangers are the competition leaders by a margin of just one point after they were 4-0 winners over eleventh placed Hakoah while Southern NSW are second following their 2-1 victory over fifth placed Stanmore Hawks.
St George are in third position after they went down 1-0 to tenth placed Nepean and Gladesville Ryde Magic are placed fourth thanks to their 1-0 win over thirteenth placed Inter Lions.
Camden Tigers are seventh after they were 2-1 winners over ninth placed Springwood United. This was the Tigers? third win on the trot with a very solid result. The game was played at a very fast pace which appeared to suit the Tigers. The ball was moved from end to end with both keepers busy during a hectic first fifteen minutes. A 32nd minute strike from twenty metres by midfielder Joshua Toogood gave Camden the lead which they took into the half time break. Only three minutes into the second half, Chad Reid was able to beat the Springwood keeper with a well placed shot into the bottom corner of the net. The Tigers then defended their two goal lead until the 69th minute when Springwood scored from the penalty spot through N.Oankwa.
Sixth placed Balmain East Tigers came up with a 2-0 victory when they faced fourteenth placed Hills Brumbies while eighth placed Hurstville City Minotaurs were beaten 1-0 by Northbridge who are twelfth and they have now posted their first three-pointer for the season.
Grade 16
Stanmore Hawks have had the perfect start to the season with seven wins from as many matches and they are five points clear at the top of the table following their 3-0 result over eleventh placed Southern NSW while Hakoah are in second spot after they accounted for eighth placed Mt Druitt Town Rangers with a 4-0 scoreline.
Hurstville City Minotaurs are in third position thanks to the 4-0 success they posted when they faced thirteenth placed Northbridge and Gladesville Ryde Magic are fourth following their 2-1 victory over Inter Lions who are in tenth position.
Fifth placed Springwood United accounted for ninth placed Camden Tigers with a 3-1 scoreline. Springwood were very impressive in their convincing  win at Ron Dine Reserve on Saturday. Both teams tested each other out for the majority of the first half but scoring opportunities where limited due to some determined defence. It was Springwood that opened the scoring in the 30th minute when T.Pavlakis finished off brilliantly after some excellent team work to create the goal scoring opportunity. The second half belonged to Springwood and their relentless attacking attitude saw them score again in the 52nd minute through D.Brown. Camden never gave up and they got back into the match in the 60th minute when Taylor McDonald scored from the penalty spot. In the 64th minute, Springwood wrapped the game up through a C.Fantini goal to run out very deserved winners
St George are sixth after they were 5-1 winners over Nepean who are fourteenth and seventh placed Hills Brumbies defeated twelfth placed Balmain East Tigers by the odd goal in seven in an absolute nail-biter.
Grade 18
St George have not lost any of their seven matches and they lead the way on this table by two points after they defeated eleventh placed Nepean by the odd goal in seven while Hills Brumbies are second following their solid 4-0 success over Balmain East Tigers who are in thirteenth position. The goals for the Brumbies were scored by Jordan Caporale (2), Glen Kelshaw and Mitchell Slee.
Gladesville Ryde Magic are third thanks to their 6-1 result over tenth placed Inter Lions and fourth placed Camden Tigers produced a 2-1 victory over Springwood United who are placed eighth. Springwood came to Ron Dine Reserve ready to play against a Camden side who’s recent form has been very good. The first half was very physical with both teams looking to take control of the match. In the 43rd minute, a Camden player was shown a red card for what appeared to be an off the ball incident and Camden would need to play the next forty-seven minutes without their central defender. The physical football continued in the second half and it was a very excited Springwood team that took the lead in the 69th minute when J.Buckley calmly beat the keeper after some confusion in the Camden defensive line. Camden continued to push forward and play some positive football and were rewarded in the 78th minute when John McPhillips made it 1 – 1. In an amazing finish to the game, John McPhillips grabbed his second in the 86th minute and from that point, Camden were able to defend strongly to hold off a very determined Springwood outfit for a very gritty 2 – 1 result.
Placed fifth, Stanmore Hawks came up with a much closer than expected 3-2 success over fourteenth placed Southern NSW who actually scored goals for the first time this season.
