Division One Youth League Round 18 Review

There is still such a long way to go in this season that it would be futile to even guess at the composition of the top five for each of the age groups at this stage. The only certain thing is that it is likely there will be a great many changes between now and the play-offs.
Club Championship
Gladesville Ryde Magic had taken ten of the points last time they met Hakoah but it was a slightly different story this time when Hakoah earned nine points from the day. As a result, Magic have slipped back to second place and Hakoah have remained at third.
Mt Druitt Town Rangers had collected twelve points from their first round matches against Southern NSW but they were forced to settle for ten points this time around. That has allowed the Rangers to claim the top spot on the table and left Southern at ninth.
Stanmore Hawks had earned five points and St George had taken eight points when the clubs clashed last time and this week the Saints bagged nine points and the Hawks ended up with six points. That has meant that St George dropped a spot to sixth and Stanmore have fallen back one place to fifth.
Camden Tigers bagged all fifteen points from their first round meeting with Northbridge but on this occasion the Tigers had to be content with a haul of thirteen points. However, that proved to be enough to see Camden move up two places to fourth while Northbridge are still twelfth.
Hills Brumbies pocketed ten points from their last encounter with Inter Lions and this week the Brumbies added nine points to their tally to remain at seventh while the Lions are still fourteenth.
Hurstville City Minotaurs earned nine points from their first round clash with Balmain East Tigers and the Minotaurs upped the ante this week when they collected thirteen points and that allowed them to stay at eight position while the Tigers have remained at eleventh.
Nepean and Springwood United had split the first round points but this time Springwood collected eight points and Nepean took five points. That has left the clubs at tenth and thirteenth respectively.
In Round 9 catch-up action Hurstville City Minotaurs took nine points from Springwood United and that has pushed them up to seventh spot while Springwood are still tenth.
Grade 13
Camden Tigers had won their last three matches and they were 3-1 winners last time they faced Northbridge who had lost their last two games. On this occasion Northbridge did very well to hold the Tigers to a 1-1 draw, a result that has left Camden five points clear at the top of the table while Northbridge are still in thirteenth place.
Hakoah had taken points from their last eleven games but they had suffered a 3-1 first round loss to Gladesville Ryde Magic who had won their last two matches. Hakoah reversed the first round outcome when they came up with a 2-1 victory and that has allowed them to hold onto second spot while Magic have slipped back one place to fifth.
Southern NSW arrived at this match on the back of a last game loss and they had claimed the first round points with a 2-1 win over Mt Druitt Town Rangers. Southern completed the double this week when they again posted a 2-1 scoreline and that has left them in third place while the Rangers are still sixth.
St George had earned points from their last four matches and they had taken the first round points with a 3-1 win over Stanmore Hawks who had lost their last match. The Saints completed the double when they were 2-0 winners this time and they have moved up one place to fourth as a result while the Hawks are still eleventh.
Hurstville City Minotaurs had lost their last two matches but they were 2-0 winners when they last played Balmain East Tigers who had lost their last game. Hurstville completed the double when they posted a 3-2 result this week to secure seventh spot and Balmain are still fourteenth.
In Round 9 catch-up action Hurstville came up with a 3-1 win over Springwood United but it did not affect the position of either team.

Grade 14
A last game loss had ended St George?s ten match unbeaten run including their scoreless first round draw with Stanmore Hawks who had gone six games without a loss. On this occasion the Hawks were able to produce a 1-0 win and that has moved them to the top of the table and pushed the Saints back to second.

The Rangers completed the double with a 3-1 result this week and that has left them in third place while Southern have slipped back one place to ninth.

This time the Minotaurs were able to square the ledger with a 2-0 win that has left them at seventh while Balmain are still third.
In Round 9 catch-up action Hurstville came up with a 3-0 success over Springwood United, a result that pushed Hurstville two places up the table to fifth.

Grade 16
Hakoah had taken points from their last four matches and they had fought out a 1-1 first round draw with Gladesville Ryde Magic who had remained unbeaten in their last eight games. That recent form held true as Magic took the points with a 1-0 result to climb one place up the table to second while Hakoah are still the competition frontrunners by a margin of two points.
Stanmore Hawks had gone five matches without loss and they were 3-0 winners last time they faced St George who had also taken points from their last five games. The Saints claimed the points this week with a 5-2 result to remain at sixth while the Hawks have slipped back one place to third.
Springwood United were unbeaten in their last three games and they had won 5-0 when the last saw Nepean who lost their last match. The points went to Springwood once again when they came up with a 2-0 success and that has allowed them to move up one place to fourth while Nepean are still thirteenth.

The Tigers completed the double with a -0 scoreline and that boosted them one place up the table to second while Northbridge slipped back one place to tenth.
