Official – Subway Skill Acquisition League

W6T0426

The Subway Skill Acquisition League sits within a key development pathway for junior; therefore it becomes vital that the league is inevitably consistent with the Football NSW Skill Acquisition Program and National Curriculum.
The Football NSW Technical Department has tabled a number of significant structural and philosophical changes to the competition which have been widely supported by the relevant parties.
All changes aim to consolidate a consistent approach to youth development, something which has been lacking in past years.
In order to rival the world?s best footballing nations, the focus is primarily development driven as opposed to results driven. As such, points and tables are to be removed.
The Frank Broughton and Centenary Cup will be combined to form a Gala Day/Cup competition at the conclusion of the season.
Coaches will be instructed on technical aspects of formation as well as a style of play and a development philosophy that is to be encouraged.
The Football NSW Subway Skill Acquisition League will have a substantial impact on the future focus of youth football and produce a larger talent pool for clubs and the National Player Development Pathway.
