Football NSW EDP Referees dominate FFA National Youth Championship
The referees are identified and selected by each state and during the tournament are coached by a team of nationally accredited coaches.
NSW has always been represented at these tournaments and whilst they have enjoyed some meager success in the past, it has only been the last four years where the NSW referees have started to dominate both the boys and girls championships.
The best performed referees are selected to control the final All-stars game, which is basically the best performed team playing a composite team made up of the remaining best players and over the last four years EDP referees have had a major representation in these games.
This tournament Lachlan Daniel (Referee), Karl Davies (Assistant Referee) and Kearney Robinson (4th Official) continued the EDP domination and were appointed to the All-star game.
The remainder of the NSW contingent, Tristan Harris and Tim Turner, performed admirably over the tournament and if they continue to develop at the same rate, also have a bright future in the sport.
The fact that NSW has been so prominent over this time is no fluke and is a testament to the preparation and coaching provided through the EDP program and the consistent coaching techniques provided by entire EDP team.
On behalf of Football NSW, the EDP and your colleagues, congratulations on your individual successes and the overall success of the 2012 team. Well done.
