The Eastern Suburbs will be represented by squads drawn from across the entire region for the 2014 Regional League.

Hakoah Sydney City East FC represented the Eastern Suburbs in the inaugural 2013 season of the Regional League which was initiated as an outcome of the FNSW competitions Review to provide a development opportunity for aspiring footballers between grassroots football and the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competitions.

For the 2014 season, Hakoah Sydney City East FC is now supporting the regional league sides under the Eastern Suburbs Football Association (ESFA) banner. These sides will represent the entire Eastern Suburbs and will draw from the best players in the Association.

ESFA sees this development of the Regional League to be an important part of clarifying and developing the Talented Player Pathway in the Eastern Suburbs, providing opportunities for talented junior players to advance.

ESFA General Manager Aaron Dibdin appreciated Hakoah Sydney City East FC’s support in working together to achieve a successful Regional League program in 2014.

“We want to thank Hakoah Sydney City East FC for their assistance and cooperation and look forward to working together to run a professional and successful Regional League program in 2014.”

“We are happy with the final outcome that’s provided a positive message to all, supporting kids together in their local area.”

Hakoah Sydney City East FC President Michael Katz echoed Dibdin’s comments and was also excited with the upcoming prospect with ESFA.

"We are very excited about the prospect of supporting ESFA in delivering a quality football product to the juniors in the Eastern Suburbs area.

“We will actively work with the players and coaches in the ESFA Regional Youth League teams to provide a clear pathway to senior elite football at Hakoah Sydney City East FC in the coming years."
