VALE: Charlie Downie

charlies

Football NSW would like to pass on its deepest condolences to the Downie family for the tragic passing of their 14-year-old son Charlie.

Charlie lost his battle with a rare form of cancer on Tuesday with his family by his side.

Charlie loved his football and had dreams to play at the highest level possible.

Charlie played the majority of his junior football career with the Granville Rage as well as putting on the Marconi Stallions and Mounties Wanderers jersey.

It was his love for the great game of Football that led to Charlie discovering he had been struck down with a very rare form of Cancer, whilst attending the 2014 Granville Rage Youth League trials.

Anyone that came in touch with Charlie knew that apart from Football, his other two passions in his life were the Socceroos and the Western Sydney Wanderers.
