Football NSW Referees Manager Kris Griffiths Jones along with Football NSW staff Kelly Jones, Robert Nieuwenhuis and John Bowdler, hosted a Hyundai A-League style seminar on Wednesday 9th July at Valentine Sports Park which was attended by over 20 enthusiastic Referee Development Program youngsters.
The seminar was designed to give younger referees the experience of what it was like to be an Hyundai A-League referee for the day.
The day consisted of an hour and a half physical training session, followed by match incident analysis, specific refereeing training drills and a Laws of the Game video test.
Kris Griffiths-Jones was delighted with the turnout and stated his push for more referees to join in on forthcoming courses.
“The day was well attended by many branches which made it great for all of us that facilitated the sessions.
“It’s great to see young aspiring referees wanting to push themselves to the limit in getting further into their refereeing careers.
“I urge any interested referees to keep a look out on our section of the website for more courses as well as contacting your local refereeing branches if you’re interested in joining up.”
