Canterbury District Soccer Football Association side Balmain FC have generously donated 400 footballs to Fiji for their ongoing development towards their grassroots programmes.

Balmain FC Vice President Paul Avery acknowledged that this donation would help further assist the development of the game in Fiji.

“We are a proud community based club that encourages participation.

“Fiji have been doing it tough and the contribution of these footballs will further promote the world game.”

Accepting the balls on Fiji’s behalf was tour operator Bruce Tilt who will take them to the Pacific Island nation in December.

This will be just in time for a special Youth Tournament for the U13’s, U15’s and U17 Boys and Girls whereby these participating teams will be visiting local villages.

“Football in Fiji has improved at an amazing rate and the donation of the soccer balls will help to continue the good work of the Fiji Football Association.”
