After a detailed review in 2014/15 around the successful Summer Football season, Football NSW has reiterated its commitment to its stakeholders and has announced that the 2015/16 competition will see player fees reduced.

The decrease in Summer Fees is aligned to Football NSW’s strategic goals of reducing the cost of football, and acknowledges the hard work done by those Associations and Clubs that have developed the game over the past year.

Summer Football once again stood tall in 2014/15 as approximately 24,000 players across both genders was played by participants from the ages of five and over.

An interesting figure was that 7,650 participants were “new” and did not play football in the 2014 winter season, furthering its appeal as an ever growing concept of the ‘world game’.

As many as 50 summer football venues were used in the past season and it is expected that more will join in the new season.

Football NSW Head of Football Phil Brown promoted the importance Summer Football played in achieving a healthier and more enjoyable lifestyle by participating in such a fun loving sport.

“Summer Football is a fantastic game that can keep you fit and healthy in a safe and friendly environment.

“For Men and Women who love the game, it’s a great way to stay in shape and enjoy the social aspect of getting a team together with a group of friends.

“It’s equally as beneficial for youngsters who can continue to develop their skills over the summer season, stay fit and healthy, and have fun with their mates.”
