IGA Club of the Month – Goulburn Stags

GoulburnStags

Football NSW and IGA are pleased to announce that the latest IGA Club of the Month winner is the Goulburn Stags from the Southern Tablelands Football Association.
The Stags have 223 players this year from U6 through to All Age. For the last seven years the club have held a fundraiser for the NSW Cancer Council and have raised over $70,000 during this time.
The initiative primarily involves the purchase of one-off jerseys used by all club teams during the year. During a particular round the limited edition jersey is happily purchased by players and worn during their match.
In 2015, the Stags Call to Arms Round was played on 15-16 August with a social event held on the Saturday night to further encourage donations. With donations still coming, they have raised over $11,000 this year thanks to the generosity of the club, players and local businesses.
Club Secretary Craig Norris has been integral to the success of the Club and this particular promotion.
“In 2009 the Club had two Men’s teams but have now grown to well over 200 players in 25 teams across all age groups, making us the largest club in the STFA.
Not only are we pleased with the growth of the club, we are especially proud of the way that the players, committee and local community have supported our Call to Arms Round.”
Football NSW and IGA are pleased to award the Goulburn Stags with $500 in IGA gift cards which will be put to good use according to Mr Norris.
“These will perfect for our presentation day, allowing us to put on a really good day for our players and their families”.
