A number of NSW clubs stepped an edge closer to an elusive Westfield FFA Cup round of 32 spot as round 6 of the Westfield FFA Cup took shape across football pitches in NSW on Wednesday evening.

St George FA 1 v Bankstown Berries 2

PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 2 outfit Bankstown Berries needed extra time to defeat Men’s State League outfit St George FA 2-1 at the Ilinden Sports Centre on Tuesday evening.

Manny Spanoudakis’ men battled hard but it was the Berries who got the victory in the end thanks to goals from Tai Smith and Dimitri Zakilas which all but sealed an epic round 7 clash against fellow Men’s 2 side Marconi Stallions.

Hawkesbury City FC 1 v Sydney United 58 FC 6

Current red-hot PS4 NPL NSW Men’s league leaders Sydney United 58 proved to be far too strong for PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 3 side Hawkesbury City as Mark Rudan’s men ran riot with a 6-1 victory at Bensons Lane on Wednesday.

Goals to Panni Nikas, Robbie Mileski, Nikola Taneski, Matthew Bilic, Tomislav Uskok and Yutaro Shin were too much for their opponents which has now set up a huge round 7 Westfield FFA Cup encounter against rivals Sydney Olympic at the Sydney United Sports Centre.

Bonnyrigg White Eagles 3 v Hakoah Sydney City East FC 1

It was an all PS4 NPL NSW Men’s affair at the Bonnyrigg Sports Club as the White Eagles faced Hakoah Sydney City East FC.

The visitors took a lead via Jordan Mundell but then the White Eagles turned the screw on as they scored three goals via rising Under 20 youngsters Asmir Kadric and Hayden Tucker as well as an own goal that assisted in what was a much needed victory for Brian ‘Bomber’ Brown’s men.

The White Eagles will once again face PS4 NPL NSW Men’s opposition in the form of Parramatta FC in what should be an interesting clash between both clubs hoping to get themselves into the round of 32 of the Westfield FFA Cup.

Manly United FC 4 v Killarney District Soccer Club 1

Paul Dee’s Manly United defeated a spirited Central Coast Football Association side Killarney District SC 4-1 at Cromer Park on Wednesday evening.

A Dejan Pandurevic double followed by goals from club captain Brendan Cholakian and Daniel Bragg all but assured the Northern Beaches club a place in the Cup’s next round with a clash against PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 2 side Mounties Wanderers.

Marconi Stallions FC 3 v St George Saints Football Club 0

It was an all PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 2 battle at Marconi Stadium as the Marconi Stallions took on St George Saints FC – the home side running out 3-0 victors.

Goals to Noah Chianese, Sean Rooney and Mirjan Pavlovic all but assured the club’s hope of playing in the round of 32 of the Cup where they will face fellow Men’s 2 side Bankstown Berries at Marconi Stadium.

Sydney Olympic FC 2 v Wollongong United FC 0

The fairytale Cup run of Illawarra Premier League outfit Wollongong United came to an end on Wednesday at Belmore Sports Ground as PS4 NPL NSW Men’s side Sydney Olympic recorded a 2-0 victory with goals in each half.

Goals from Eoin Montford and Adrian Vranic was all the Blues needed in reaching the next stages of the Cup with an enormous clash against former NSL rivals Sydney United 58 FC.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC 2 v Parramatta FC 3

In what was a five goal thriller at Lambert Park, Parramatta FC stunned hosts APIA Leichhardt Tigers with a 3-2 victory as Franco Cosentino’s men continued its good run into the Westfield FFA Cup.

A double via Daniel Rezo as well as a Luke Grima goal cancelled out Tasuku Sekiya’s double in what was a frantic last few minutes as Parramatta FC heaped more misery to the hosts who have had an indifferent start to the 2016 football season.

Wollongong Wolves Football Club 2 v Bulli FC 1

Billed as the South Coast derby, PS4 NPL NSW Men’s side Wollongong Wolves edged out Illawarra Premier League side Bulli FC 2-1 at Hooka Creek Park.

Goals to Ricky Zucco and Peter Simonoski cancelled out Sam Davies’ goal for the visitors as Jacob Timpano’s team set sail for the final leg of the Westfield FFA Cup phase.

Mosman FC 3 v Mounties Wanderers 5

PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 2 side Mounties Wanderers were given an all mighty scare as they took on Manly Warringah Football Association side Mosman FC at Cromer Park number 2.

The game was locked at 3-3 after full time before the away side notched up two goals in extra time which kept Mounties Wanderers’ Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 hopes alive.
