ASEAN delegates visit VSP
Football NSW hosted a special visit by ASEAN female delegates from Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand as key discussions took place regarding the state of the women’s game in NSW.
Singaporean FA Women’s Executive Ms Beatrice Tan, Vietnamese FF Deputy Competitions Director Ngo Thi Phuong Thao, Malaysian FA’s Head of Football Zara Omar and Thailand’s International Relations Secretariat Rumpha Varaveerakul and Thanaporn Puttamalee met with Football NSW CEO Eddie Moore and the various heads of respective departments of the organisation to discuss competitions, pathways, growth of women’s football, grassroots, the database as well as took in a site visit of the Valentine Sports Park facility.
Football NSW CEO Eddie Moore stated that the discussions were fruitful in providing essential information sharing on how best practices were actioned in Australia’s largest state football member federation on the women’s game.
“The women’s game continues to kick goals year upon year and 2016 has once again shown this through its constant increase in player numbers and teams participating in our sport.
“It was great to have shared our ideas and best practices with our friends from Asia as they took in what we did here in NSW with the women’s setup hoping to bring back some of that knowledge in their respective competitions.
“We thank all five ASEAN female delegates and hope that we can once again network and continue to promote the women’s game in years to come.”
