The Football NSW Board recently met to discuss the feedback provided by the respective Standing Committees and other stakeholders in relation to the Men’s National Premier League Competitions Discussion Paper.

Firstly, we thank all of those involved for their constructive input that has greatly assisted the Board in determining the following outcomes.

After careful consideration, the Board has determined that there will be no changes to competition structures or criteria for season 2018.

For season 2019, the Board takes this opportunity to notify Clubs that the following recommendations will be implemented, allowing Clubs the appropriate times frames to commence planning:

• Three Year licenses will be granted to successful applicants commencing 2019 competition season.

• Externally audited finances commencing for 2018 Financial Year, will be required in relation to entry into the 2019 competition.

Regarding the competition structures and requirements for season 2019 and beyond, further review and consultation will be conducted in the coming months. Our aim is to resolve and communicate those changes by October 2017.

As previously stated, the Board is committed to reviewing the framework to consider how we can continue to strengthen Competitions with respect to:

(i) developing players, coaches, referees and clubs;

(ii) their commercial viability for participating clubs and Football NSW; and

(iii) the interest they attract from fans, media and commercial partners.

Football NSW will shortly release the 2018 Competition Application Process for all competitions so keep your eyes peeled for that on our website.
