Both Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC and Blacktown City FC walked onto the pitch at Popondetta Park for a Mother’s Day clash to finish off Female Football Week.

The visitors were the first to author a chance in the contest. Amber Precious was released well and shot straight at Mt Druitt keeper Renee Krstanovska.

She made up for that miss in the 33rd minute, making it 2-0 Mt Druitt. She strode free again and found the bottom corner of the net.

Blacktown City FC tried to pull back a goal before half-time but they were held at bay by the Town Rangers who enjoyed a brilliant first half.

Coming out of the break, Blacktown City FC tried to find a spark with a pair of substitutes. One of the substitutes, Amelia Savetta had a chance which fizzed wide.

Khamis looked to provide another assist for Boateng. She floated in a cross which Boateng couldn’t connect with properly.

Caitlin Campbell tried to add a fourth for Mt Druitt from a free-kick. She sent in the set piece which found Khamis who forced Blacktown City FC keeper Amy Harkin into a diving save.

Harkin was called into action twice to prevent the Town Rangers. First, she denied Khamis then the follow up from Boateng was repelled.

The Town Rangers had two more chances to extend the score. Galea had a shot right at Harkin then Khamis sent one over.
