FFA visit Cromer Park

Manly Warringah Football Association welcomed FFA National Community Coach Development Manager Les Bee to Cromer Park this week.

Bee was on the Northern Beaches to help facilitate the MWFA’s end of year review of the FFA Club Coach Coordinator (CCC) Program with its CCC clubs and their respective CCC’s and club administrators.

The CCC program is designed to help clubs support their new and inexperienced coaches in their own club environment and has come to life across the peninsula in many ways across the clubs involved with the pilot program in 2017.

Clubs were asked to share their highlights of the program, the challenges they faced and how they overcame them and also every club departed Cromer Park with their own individual CCC action plan for 2018 which the MWFA will help them bring to fruition.

Bee was full of praise for the club representatives in attendance in particular their enthusiasm for the program.

“It is great to see the enthusiasm from clubs for this initiative, how they have adapted it to meet their needs and their willingness to share experiences with others ad there was a great collaborative spirit amongst all in attendance, the commitment to rolling the CCC  program out further in 2018 was especially rewarding and I look forward to returning to see how things are going in the future.”

One of the key themes from the evening was that supporting coaches isn’t a one size fits all model and the opportunity for clubs to share and network was invaluable.

“To have the opportunity to hear from other clubs and their CCC’s about the challenges and success they faced this year was so beneficial and I left Cromer Park full of new ideas to further develop the CCC program at Curl Curl, to also have someone of Les’s stature in the room also just made the evening one to remember.”
