Father and son Denis and Domenic Nascimben went ‘LIVE’ on Fox Sports News on Thursday night to promote the first pilot program of the Don’t Mess with Drugs Foundation (DMWD).

Denis a club official, and Domenic the 19-year-old Blacktown Spartans club goalkeeper were outstanding ambassadors for their club and Association when they spoke to host Tom Wilson back in the Fox Sport studio.

With the Blacktown Spartans under 18 squad training in the background for their sudden death semi-final this weekend, the setting was perfect for the father and son to promote the program and their club.

Neither of them missed a beat, they were articulate and well prepared and the feedback from those who saw it was extremely complimentary.

“I have had some experience at doing media interviews before so this was good because I knew what they were going to ask me in advance,” said Domenic.

Dad, Denis was just the ultimate professional he spoke from the heart and as both a father and sports official he was passionate in his responses.

Special guest on night two of the pilot program was Sport NSW CEO Darren Simpson.

“I am most impressed by the DMWD Program, being proactive and not reactive makes it different and one well worth supporting.

“I would like to see as many of our sports as possible undergoing this program and I will be recommending the program to as many as I can.”

Don’t Mess with Drugs Community Services Manager Brent Plimpton was also interviewed and responded on behalf of the DMWD Foundation.

“I am passionate about DMWD I want to see it expand so that our 16-24 year olds can make smart decisions when it comes to drugs.

“This program will make a difference providing it gets the support it needs “

Channel Seven News were diverted on their way to Blacktown to a major news story, this prevented them from covering the pilot on the night.

However, they will be attending Night 3 next Tuesday which will involve parents and coaches.

Seven News intend to show the Don’t Mess with Drugs Foundation Pilot Program as a feature in their nightly news.

The 20 players looking the part in their black and orange tracksuits, completed Lesson 3 after having finished Lessons 1 and 2 on Tuesday night.

There was time for question and answers before the television commitments soon after.

The players with club coaches and other observers present, again provided valuable feedback on the program so far.

The information they provide will be used to continue to improve the program further.

The players will each receive certificates for completion of the program.

The next football pilot program is planned for November with the Sutherland Football Association and Sutherland Sharks both involved.

Blacktown Football Association CEO Bill Kostandas was thrilled with the night.

“Denis and Domenic were outstanding and really showcased football in Blacktown.

“I could not be happier with the way they conducted themselves on live television.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed the Don’t Mess with Drugs Presentations and I have no doubt our Blacktown Spartans players have benefitted greatly from this education experience.

“Their presentation and behaviour on both nights so far has been outstanding and they are a credit to the Blacktown Spartans Club.”

Finally, special thanks to Matt Rippon Football Services Manager at Football NSW for helping to enable this pilot program at Blacktown to be done.

He has also helped to facilitate the Program at Sutherland Football Association and the Sutherland Sharks in November.
