Football NSW to host 2017 National Paralympic 7-a-side Football Championships

DD1v2Final-78

Football NSW will be hosting the National Paralympic 7-a-side Football Championships for a second year following a successful 2016 championship. The 7-a-side Paralympic nationals will showcase the talented upcoming junior players and current Pararoos stars in the four day championship.

The Pararoos ( The Australia’s National Football Team in international 7-a-side competition for athletes with cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury or symptoms acquired from stroke) recently arrived back from a successful campaign in the IFCPF World Championships in Argentina  with a top 10 finish. This is the highest finish the Pararoos have ever finished with only narrowly falling 2-1 to Argentina in extra time.

The 2017 National Paralympic 7-a-side Football Championships will be held at Valentine Sports Park on Field 1 from the 23rd to the 26th November. The NSW Parablues will be looking to defend their title after taking out the 2016 title for a 12th time since the first nationals in 2004.

A junior come and try day will be hosted on the finals day (26th November) for anyone with cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury or symptoms acquired from stroke or similar impairments. The come and try day is welcomed for any boy or girl aged 6 to 16 with a chance to meet and greet the Pararoos coaching staff and players.

Anyone who wishes to register their son or daughter for the junior come and try day please register here – https://www.jotform.com/FNSW_JotForm/paralympic-football-program
