Football NSW in conjunction with Southern Districts Soccer Football Association and Amity College in Prestons played out a successful pilot program of Street Football in what were an amazing eight weeks of round ball action this School term.

Supported by well-known female football advocate, Southern Districts Soccer FA’s Catherine Cannuli, the former Matildas star along with Football NSW Game Development Officers Taj Lynch and Pete Nowakowski delivered the program in Term 4 and received fantastic feedback from the participants and school.

The success of the program was evident as 30 girls registered into the Street Football program of whom the majority had either not played before or were not currently playing outside of school hours.

Amity College PDHPE Head Teacher Jade Hunt and Sevde Karakulak from the Primary School were both local Champions who promoted the program and encouraged girls from years 5 to 12 to register for the program.

Both provided positive feedback about the program noticing that students were very engaged in the inclusive practices that focused on holistic Physical Literacy components as well as the fundamental football and futsal skills.
