Newly appointed Hills Football Inc General Manager Matt Rippon is excited about the 2021 Grassroots season for a number of reasons.

The 34-year-old football administrator is relishing his new role at the ever-expanding Hills Football region and from the sounds of things, there’s a lot to be excited about for anyone looking at registering for the 2021 season.

“Hills Football Association is again continuing to grow season by season with an expectation on its highest ever registration numbers, exceeding the 18,000 (winter and summer) participants in 2020.

“We’re excited to once again offer a full season for participants catering for players of all ages and abilities up to and including Masters programs.

“We are placing a strategic focus on Club servicing, support and development initiatives as well as an increased Coach Education.

“We will continue to develop and expand our All-Abilities programming and Summer/Social football offerings also which attributed to over 6000 registrations last season.”

With the FIFA Women’s World Cup set to be held in Australia and New Zealand in 2023, a strong emphasis has been placed on the development and the awareness of Female Football.

Rippon added that something new and exciting will no doubt strike the interest of many female footballers wanting to play the world game in the Hills area.

We are excited to launch our inaugural Women’s Premier League this season which will feature 9 teams and provide the highest level of competition for Female players in the Hills District.

“We’ve also launched our ‘MiniTildas’ competitions, a girls only teams and leagues from Under 8’s to 11’s which we are really thrilled about also.”

The Men’s senior competitions as well as the Associations Academy and Pathway programs will also be a key attraction for 2021 as will its Little Legends program.

“We will once again have a high standard of football in the Men’s Premier League and will provide live streamed matches each week.

“Our Academy and Pathway programs continue to grow with development opportunities for all players across all 4 School Terms including our extremely popular Little Legends (3–5-year-olds) with over 15 venues for 2021.”

The push for more referees is also something Rippon understands is needed within the football mad area as the Association is set to put on more courses to attract new faces in this space.

Hills Football will once again have a continued focus on Referee education and development with a number of new courses having just been announced.

“We are always looking for more referees and now’s a better time than ever to get involved with the game continually growing and expanding.”

Rippon’s call to arms was simple. Don’t wait even for a second, register today to take part in what will be a memorable 2021 Grassroots season.

“We at Hills cannot wait for the football season to start and 2021 is a chance for our valued players, referees, officials, coaches and volunteers as well as our new faces to enjoy the sport like never before.

“Hills Football provides as opportunity for players of all abilities and ages and encourages new and returning members to join one of our amazing clubs and Hills Football community.”
