“Giving discrimination the boot”, that’s the stern message Football NSW along with its fellow local Member Associations and Clubs will be pushing as the inaugural ‘Stand United’ campaign and Workshop made its debut on Monday 1st of March at the Sutherland Shire Football Association.

Harrie Dening Centre was the scene as various Sutherland Shire FA Board Members along with local Club Members from Gwawley Bay FC, Grays Point SC and Bosco FC took part in the first-ever workshop where foundational tools were implemented to assist in being more inclusive to diverse cultures across NSW.

Sutherland Shire FA’s General Manager Jeff Stewart was impressed with how the ‘Stand United’ campaign concept was received.

“It was a great opportunity to witness firsthand the important role ‘Stand United’ will play in terms of further educating us all about Cultural Diversity and Inclusion of our sport.

“We are the ‘World Game’ and want to continue to embrace this message and this campaign will certainly have the power to promote this.”

The Stand United Campaign was launched upon receiving a second grant from Multicultural NSW as part of the COMPACT Alliance.

NSW Metro and Regional Association will continue to host these workshops leading up to the start of the winter football season.
