Football NSW host successful 2022 Futsal Schools State Championships
The best of the best schools were recently present at the Hawkesbury PCYC across four massive days from the 26th till the 29th of July as the 2022 Futsal Schools State Championships kicked into gear.
Over 850 teams across 40 different schools who competed over the 13 regions this year took part in the State Championships in Hawkesbury.
The State Championships consisted of boys and girls teams from all over Sydney, Central Coast, Wollongong, Shoalhaven, Newcastle, Bathurst, Orange, Wagga Wagga and even Canberra.
“It was a pleasure delivering the regional championships and being able to provide schools and students from all over NSW the opportunity to play futsal against a variety of different schools,” said Football NSW’s Community Clubs and Centres Coordinator Jamie Dib.
“The State Championships was the perfect week to end what was a fantastic year of school futsal.
“After a 2-year hiatus, there was a massive build-up of excitement for the state championships, and it did not disappoint.
“Each day of the State Championships was played with an incredible level of quality, enthusiasm, competitiveness, respect, and sportsmanship.
“It was fulfilling to see each student represent their school with so much pride, and it was fantastic to be able to provide the students an opportunity to play at an exciting tournament with some of their best mates.
“With the successful delivery of the 2022 Futsal School Championships, there is already a huge excitement and anticipation about the 2023 edition, and Football NSW cannot wait for it.
“It is an exciting time, with more regions and more opportunities for 2023 to be announced very soon.
“In the meantime, you can get involved with futsal this summer, and keep an eye out for the information regarding the 2023 Futsal School Championships via the website and social media channels.”
