Football NSW will be one of the nine member federations to join a formal connection to the National Indigenous Advisory Group.

Since the inception of the informal IAG in 2021, the group has worked on and facilitated numerous new initiatives to promote First Nations people in football including NAIDOC Week events like NAIDOC Cup and Indigenous Round, and celebration of First Nations Champions.

With this announcement Football NSW is proud to open expressions of interest for members of the formally recognized Football NSW Indigenous Advisory Group. The newly recognized and formalized group will comprise of First Nations community members of diverse backgrounds and experience.

Members will have industry leading knowledge from areas such as academia, media, government, business and education. FNSWIAG members’ term of appointment will be for a period of 2 years.

For more, please see the adopted Terms of Reference here.

The FNSWIAG will provide expertise and advice to Football NSW on the Football NSW Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and broader engagement initiatives relating to First Nations people.

Football NSW is excited to continue to make positive strides in this area with the guidance of the FNSWIAG.
