It’s no secret that clubs from the Northern Suburbs Football Association are continually on the rise with five teams set to represent the area at this Sunday’s Champion of Champions finals at Valentine Sports Park.

The likes of Mount Colah FC (12 Boys), Lindfield FC (14 Girls), Prouille FC (17 Boys), North Sydney United (Over 35 Men) and Northern Galaxy (Over 30 Women) will all be flying the Northern Suburbs FA flag something that current interim CEO Adam Cloughton has admired.

“NSFA are very proud to have 5 representatives in this Sunday’s Champion of Champions, with the finalists representing 5 different clubs.

“We also had 11 teams make it to the Semi-Finals.

“The strong performances of NSFA teams highlights the positive impact of our development leagues and the competitive depth in our divisions.

“The Champion of Champions tournament is something that our Development League clubs aspire to compete in.

“There has been more excitement than ever around the COC tournament after a 2-year hiatus.

“The competition provides the unique opportunity to compete against the best teams in the state, whilst representing not only your club but the association.”

With an impressive total of 1310 teams across 17, 332 registered players in 2022, Cloughton was delighted with how the NSFA have progressed and signaled out a special mention to Mount Colah FC who were assisting in the association’s push for growing the female game within the football mad area.

“I did want to give a special mention to Mount Colah FC, who are represented by the Under 12 Boys and Women’s Over 30s from Northern Galaxy. Galaxy is a female football joint-venture between MCFC and neighbouring club Berowra to provide better football opportunities for their local female players.

“We’d like to wish all our clubs the best of luck this Sunday.”
