Emu Plains FC to launch females in football program

Emu Plains Football Club (EPFC)has been awarded a grant from the NSW Football Legacy Fund that will go towards funding its EPFC Females in Football Initiative, aimed primarily at young female footballers aged between 8-12 years old.

The EPFC seeks to promote gender equality and opportunity through the provision of the Females in Football Initiative, which will be specifically targeted towards increasing female participation.

“We’re extremely thrilled to have been given this opportunity. The FIFA Women’s World Cup has brought on a wave of young girls and women wanting to play football and join the club, and we’re hoping to capture the interest of more,” said Brian Tar, Emu Plains FC Coaching Co-ordinator

“Emu Plains FC will be utilising the $10,000 grant to grow our female participation numbers within our players and leadership positions, including refereeing and coaching. We also hope to strengthen our player retention by providing programs that improve players skills and build community.”

The Females in Football Program will be delivered throughout numerous female-only clinics and aims to provide a safe and fun environment for all participants.
