FFA Schools 5-a-Side Gala Day
The FFA Schools 5-a-Side gala day will bring together a number of local schools participating in football matches on smaller fields in a round robin format at local venues. Some students will also have the chance to represent their school in a number of football challenges throughout the day. Providing a fun opportunity for boys and girls throughout Australia, Football NSW is delighted to support and facilitate the national schools program. Your school is requested to enter three teams – a boys, girls and mixed team. The gala day will provide students – who may or may not have played before – the opportunity to experience and be introduced to football in a fun environment. The focus is entirely on enjoyment and participation as there will be no winners or scores recorded. Each participant will also receive a size 1 mini football.
Each school is also required to supply a capable Year 6 student for each of your teams (3 in total ? one for each team) to act as ?Game Leaders. The main role of the Game Leader is to keep the game moving fluently, limit stoppages and assist players with all match re-starts. Most importantly, they must make every effort to create an environment that ensures all players have fun and have maximum involvement. The Game Leader should always be Enthusiastic and approachable.
