Well known NSW Assistant Referee Alex Glasgow was this week rewarded for his fine performances in the world game by securing the elevation to the International List of FIFA which will formerly take effect as of 1 January 2008.

FIFA will now recognise Glasgow directly and his initial badge will be sent directly to him from FIFA Headquarters in Zurich.

The 30-year-old Secondary School Head Teacher and familiar Football NSW official was delighted upon receiving such a huge honour after starting out as an official way back in 1991.

?It?s really a culmination of a lot of things and not just for me, but also a recognition of others in the hard work they put in too.?

Asked what his next step was in the world of officiating Glasgow replied

?From here onwards I?d like to get onto the AFC panel of assistants and from then on get a chance in officiating in the Asian Champions League and Asian Cup matches as well as International Fixtures.?
