50 straight football seasons for Graeme Chapman
Chappo started out in the Bankstown Association with the Yagoona Koala’s as a 3 1/2 year old back in 1959 and has played every season since, including the last eleven with Thornleigh Soccer Club?s over 35’s in the Gladesville-Hornsby Football Association.
Prior to this, the football advocate played for Como-West Janali in the Sutherland Association and Ashfield in the Canterbury Association.
Chappo also coaches one of the club’s junior teams.
Chappo celebrated his 50th Anniversary in unusual style as he was knocked out for a short period during the first game of the season after he was fouled by an opposition player.
To rub salt into the wounds, the opposition scored and the referee allowed the goal.
Well done Graeme Chapman.
