Super League Round 22 Final Round Preview
With all matches kicking off at 3.00pm, there is bound to be both jubilation and heartache as the clock ticks towards 4.45.
At the top it remains Rockdale and PCYC Parramatta who will play out for the Premiership. Rockdale have the advantage of having a superior goal difference and arguably the easier fixture as they meet Central Coast at home.
The Suns only need to win to claim the title, and can ignore the efforts of Parramatta, though a win may be easier said than done. The Coast will want to go out the season on a high and they would no doubt enjoy playing their part in determining where the Premiership may end up.
PCYC Parramatta travel to Popondetta Park to take on Mount Druitt Town Rangers. The Rangers had a brilliant win against Northern Tigers last weekend to give themselves the jump on Fraser Park down at the bottom so PCYC will have their work cut out in this match.
PCYC Parramatta may end up ruing their recent poor form which has seen them lose their last two fixtures which allowed Rockdale to gain the edge.
So while the Mount Druitt and Parramatta PCYC result will affect both ends of the table, the clash between Macarthur Rams and Fraser Park at Lynwood Park will be no less important.
Nothing less than a win will suit Fraser Park as they need the three points to have any chance of staying up. They will be looking nervously at what will be unfolding out west.
Sydney University finish off the regular season at Hensley Athletic Field. They will meet Granville Rage, one of the few clubs who have nothing but pride to play for. But like the Coast, they will ensure that Uni don?t have an easy run to the finals.
St George face FC Bossy at the Stadium as they fight hard for a finals place. Bossy ensured that they remained in Super League for next season after a late winner gave them victory over Fraser Park last weekend.
The last match takes place at Mills Park where Spirit FC travel to meet Northern Tigers. Spirit are guaranteed a finals spot, it is just where in the five they finish. A win here will confirm third and the double finals chance.
The Tigers will end their recent horror run with this fixture, a no doubt disappointing end for a club who were challenging well for the finals until the last two weeks.
So there will be action aplenty and many nervous looks at the watch as this Sunday unfolds.
