Over 80 teams from across Regional NSW Associations attended Football NSW’s JDL Gala Day held at the Cookbundoon Sports Complex in Goulburn last Sunday.

Held for the Under 9’s to 12’s Boys and Girls age groups, along with players taking part in matches, Football NSW held Workshops with Association Technical Directors and their Coaches focusing on the implementation of the Association Development Leagues for the regional teams.

As many as 40 attendees took part in the Workshop while Michael Zielinski ran a Goalkeeping session for 45 goalkeepers from across the regional association teams.

As part of a football weekend, Football NSW also held it’s TSP Regional Game Day for Under 15 and 16 Girls whilst also holding a CPD Coaching Workshop on Half-Time Talks for 20 coaches.

Football NSW Regional Development Manager Andrew Fearnley attended the day along with the 3 Regional Development Officers Daniel Lucas, Norm Boardman and Ricky Guihot.

“This was the biggest Gala Day we have run so far and it was great to see the support from Associations in their junior teams,” said Fearnley.

“Our implementation of the JDL Regional standards will only assist in growing an important developmental stage for youth football in regional NSW and it was pleasing to see the initial buy-in.

“Myself and the RDO’s were also able to see first-hand the teams and coaches in action and it allowed us some good engagement with the key Association contacts.”
