NSW Premier Youth League Round 2 Review

This was a very high scoring weekend as the strikers seemed to have found some great early form that caused of terror for some of the defenders they faced. Goals are the foundation for the entertainment the game provides worldwide and most folk saw plenty of them this weekend with only one scoreless draw coming from the thirty-three matches played over the weekend.
While many folk will be paying close attention to the competition tables, it is still far too early to take them seriously. Sure, the early points are very valuable but history has shown that the first true indication of the shape of the tables will not begin to appear until at least Round 5. by then enough matches will have been played to gain a more accurate picture of what may or may not happen for the teams.
Blacktown City must have been very pleased with the twelve points they earned from their trip to Manly United and Bankstown City would have been chuffed by their haul of a dozen points at Rockdale City Suns who are slowly acclimatising to the demands of this level of play.
Bonnyrigg White Eagles showed a big improvement as they collected nine points from this week?s encounter with APIA Leichhardt Tigers and then they added three more points from their meeting with Project 22 on Sunday.
Marconi Stallions bagged eight points from their journey to South Coast Wolves while the points were split at seven apiece when West Sydney Berries faced Sutherland Sharks.
There was nothing between Sydney Olympic and Sydney United as they took an equal share of the points at six apiece.
